Guest Lecturer: Armand Verdier - Master Craftsman
Armand started his training in 1998 in Le Havre, Normandy, France. This was followed by two years at the country’s most renowned school of arts and crafts, the Ecole Boulle in Paris, as well as a period spent gaining practical work experience at New University in Buckinghamshire, England. His broad experience includes four years working for Angela Burgin, one of the UK’s leading experts in traditional upholstery. Now Based in Buckinghamshire, Armand spends much of his time working on private commissions as well as collaborating with antique dealers and interior designers.
We are honoured to welcome Armand Verdier to Bristol Upholstery Collective for a 5 day intensive week of training in the Art of French Traditional Upholstery.
If you are a fan of traditional upholstery and the intricate, stitch perfect, works that bring a traditional seat structure, this will have you drooling. Armand is famous in the Upholstery world for his incredible precision and Master Craftsman techniques in the Art of French Upholstery.
We expect this course to be full of fellow upholsterers and students, looking to expand their skill sets and spend a week with Armand at Bristol upholstery Collective, gathering knowledge and photos to enhance website portfolios to gain clients in the restoration and antique market.
All tools and materials necessary are on site, but you'll probably want to use your own professional tool kit if you have it.
The course fee includes, 3 plywood frames, all upholstery materials 5 days expert tuition from Armand, and refreshments.
